The United States has brokered a 30-day ceasefire proposal between Ukraine and Russia, aiming to halt over three years of conflict. Ukraine has agreed to the truce, with the U.S. resuming military aid and intelligence sharing to support the initiative. The focus now shifts to Russia's response, as President Vladimir Putin faces a strategic decision: accept the ceasefire and engage in peace talks or continue military operations, potentially risking further international isolation and economic sanctions.

President Donald Trump has warned of financial penalties against Russia if it rejects the ceasefire. European leaders, including defense ministers from the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Poland, are urging Putin to accept the truce and pursue dialogue to end the conflict.

THE TIMES

Despite these diplomatic efforts, Russia has continued air attacks on Ukrainian cities like Kyiv and Kharkiv, raising doubts about Moscow's willingness to embrace peace. The global community awaits Russia's decision, which will significantly impact the future trajectory of the war and regional stability.
